About Pete and his
guitars:
Self taught in the art of fret
wizardry. - been playing for more years than he cares to remember and loves every
minute of it.
I
bought my first guitar at the age of 17 (a Kay 6-stringed Wonderplank!) and disappeared
into my bedroom to study the mysterious art of music eventually resurfacing a few
weeks later with an iffy rendition of something by The Clash. I thought I was
ready to conquer the music world but soon had
my hopes dashed when encountering a few of the very talented local musicians who are still
just local - a lot more practising and learning needed to be done!!
Alongsidre Widges vocals his guitar lines
are the icing on the cake which has its solid foundations set by Rich and Gary. Reproducing the classic recognisable
riffs, licks and chops with ease and often embellishing a little to suit the style of the
band and his mood at the time. Many people believe he is too modest about his abilities
and if you ever get to see a solo spot you are amoung a privileged few (he
doesnt do many)
Favourite guitarists:
"I like to listen to all types of music (guitar based and otherwise) so its
difficult to single out any from a wide range of influences. Iif I had to choose then I
would say that Joe Satriani (combining feel with technical ability) and Angus Young (for
his infectious style and showmanship) definitely have something a bit special."
